Generalized System Requirements
swXtch.io’s architecture is simple and ensures reliable, multicast-enabled video monitoring in the cloud.
Example 1:
Seamless Multicast Overlay for Existing IP Networks

1. On-Premises Cameras: Cameras send video feeds over multicast to private WAN or public internet.

2. swXtch Bridges: Redundant swXtch Bridges (4-core hardware) subscribe to the multicast feed and in turn, tunnel packets to the cloudSwXtch clusters in the cloud.

3. cloudswXtch Cluster: A cluster of cloudSwXtches scales as needed to support fanout requirements.

4. Cloud Integration: The tunneled packets are distributed evenly across multiple cloudSwXtches (8-core VMs) in the cloud, overcoming network limitations.

5. Redundant Distribution: Video feeds are delivered via red and blue High Availability paths to any endpoints (multiviewers, AI workloads, and archiving systems), ensuring continuous flow.
Example 2:
Scalable Multicast for Hybrid and Cloud-Based Remote Monitoring

1. On-Premises Cameras: Cameras sending video feed over multicast and/or unicast to an on-prem facility.
2. swXtch Bridges: Feed is routed to swXtch Bridges present in the data center. There are two swXtch Bridges for redundancy subscribed to the same feed over multicast.

3. Cloud Integration: swXtch Bridges tunnel the packets and send it reliably over any connection to the cloud for processing. Only subscribed streams distributed to cloud, which saves bandwidth utilization.

4. Redundant Distribution: The cloudSwXtches in the cloud then send the video feed to the multi-viewers and AI workloads via redundant red and blue paths using the high availability feature to ensure a continuous flow.
Simplify, Save, and Succeed
swXtch.io boosts ROI for cloud-based video monitoring by maintaining existing resourcing and security posture while reducing bandwidth overhead through selective camera feed viewing and multicast distribution - whether running your on-prem or cloud network. It also unifies workloads on a single architecture, scales across camera types, and integrates with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and bare-metal clouds. cloudSwXtch future-proofs legacy multicast investments!
